The Brazilian football myth dominated the football world from the 1950s to the 1970s. Edson Arantes do Nascimento, as his real name is, won three World Cups with the Brazilian national team (1958, 1962, 1970). As a striker, he gained fame through his impressive technique, goal threat and incomparable ball control.
Pelé played most of his club career with FC Santos in Brazil before moving to the New York Cosmos in the USA in 1975. His tally of over 1,000 official goals makes him one of the most successful goalscorers of all time.
